The tool and hardware trades in all of Southern Africa know the products sold by Bantam Distributors C.C. / J. MacGillivray C.C. We commenced business in 1896 and are probably the oldest importers and manufacturers representatives still operating in our field in South Africa.

Our "modus operandi" is to offer good value for money merchandise. Present directors have 130 years experience between them and we regularly visit trade shows and manufacturers to ensure that the good value and good merchandise concept continues.

Brand names introduced by our company include many world renowned manufacturers including: Nicholson (files); Crescent (pliers and wrenches); Wiss (scissors); Lufkin (measuring tapes); Weller (soldering irons); Agdor (axes and hatchets); Eight (hex wrenches); Jack (handsaws); Dremel (hobby tools); Assa Stenman (hardware and locks) and a number of others.

The above products were and are sold to many importers, wholesalers and retailers, and all of them were purchased through the J. MacGillivray C.C./Bantam Distributors C.C. organizations.

Our function is to popularize, promote and distribute our Principal's goods and numbers of them are still available today from various reputable merchants and, of course, Bantam Distributors C.C.

Bantam Distributors C.C. has also introduced some own brands, namely: "KRAFFT", "BANTAM" and "DEAMARK". In other words, selected merchandise from various manufacturers is now "branded in house" by us and the quality is warranted by the makers.
